Parmeshwaran Iyer who has resigned as Secretary in GoI is likely to get an important assignment in the World Bank. A 1981 batch IAS officer before re-joining service had earlier joined the World Bank based in Washington DC in 2009. Iyer has over 20 years of experience in the water supply and sanitation sector. During his stint at the World Bank he has also worked in Vietnam, China, Egypt and Lebanon. Earlier there were reports that he is getting some other important assignment in the Modi Government.
