Dr Jitendra Singh launches digitization with inauguration of e-Office at CEL (UPDATED)

Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences; Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office; Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Minister of State in the Department of Atomic Energy; and Minister of State in the Department of Space, launched digitization with inauguration of e-Office under Digital India Mission at Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a Government of India Enterprise.  The Union Minister of State said that the Digital India Mission of the Prime Minister is an ambitious project. It is helping in the growth of the country by promoting transparency and good governance.  Dr Jitendra Singh started a tree plantation program in CEL by planting a sapling. He appreciated the efforts of the Company to keep its campus green & clean with a variety of flora & fauna on the campus.  He stressed the need for industry to take care of its environment and surroundings at micro level with steps to mitigate effects of climate change. He commended CEL’s efforts in this regard. On this occasion other dignitaries also planted saplings in CEL. Union Minister of State visited the unique Solar Park of CEL which showcases the journey of Solar PV in India and displays the latest uses of Solar PV Technology in rural and urban environs. He visited the manufacturing facilities of Automated Solar PV Module manufacturing plant, Microwave Electronics’ radar component, radome, body armour and other defence equipment manufacturing facilities. He also visited the Systems Production Division of the company and saw the manufacturing of SSDAC, HASSDAC, and Multi Section Digital Axle Counter facilities for Railway Safety. He appreciated the manufacturing facilities of CEL. Chetan Prakash Jain, CMD, CEL informed that CEL is a pioneer in Solar Technologies, Railway Electronics, Electronic Ceramics and Microwave electronics. CEL manufactured the 1st solar cell of India and the 1st Solar Module in 1978. For 43 years the company has been serving the far flung areas of the country through various Solar PV products like Solar Lanterns, Solar Home Lighting System, Solar Street Lights, Solar Water Pumping Systems, Solar Power Plants, etc. CEL supplied foldable solar modules to the Indian Armed Forces for use in high snow bound regions of Himalayas. CEL has done installations of Solar Power Plants at remote and tough locations of India. The company has designed and fabricated specialized flexible solar panels for use as the roof of the solar rickshaw.
