Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated manufacturing facilities of Panel Optodisplay Technology Private Limited (POTPL) of TCL group, Dixon Technologies, Foxlink, Sunny Opo tech and laid the foundation stone for yet another unit of Dixon Technologies and Foxlink on June 23, 2022 in Tirupati. It is to be noted that POTPL factory (TCL India) makes TV panels from EMC in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh – the TV panel manufacturing facility in the country. This unit is set up with a proposed investment of 1230 Cr out of which 1040 Cr is realized shall create a total employment of 3174 in which more than 1000 workforce is already employed in the unit, for trail productions. Another company on the list is Sunny Opo tech which makes camera modules for world leaders in mobile phones. The company's aspherical lens application, auto-focus, zoom and multilayer coating with other optical core technologies is used by MI, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo to name a few. So far, Sunny Oppotech has invested 100 Cr. out of the proposed 280 Cr. The new expansion is expected to employ 1200 workforce in Tirupati. In addition to the above world leaders that will operate out of Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister shall launch a production facility at Foxlink. The trial production for USB Charging Cables for iPhones has already commenced. The company is also testing the product for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies for HP Printers and Apple Pencils. The company has invested 450 cr out of the proposed 1050 cr. to build the facility with employees 800 people as of date. The company plans to give another 1200 people in the state an opportunity. In addition to above, CM has also virtually inaugurated a facility of Tech bulls, a software firm, in Ongole. Tech bulls is expected to generate an employment of about 800 people along with mentoring 20 start-ups which is expected to create an employment of about 200. The company has kept aside a start-up fund of about Rs. 20 crore for this purpose. CM Jagan will also partake in the groundbreaking ceremony of Dixon Technologies, India's leading EMS company and another unit of Foxlink, which is being developed by Seven Hills Digital Park. Apart from the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony, APEITA, AP Electronics and Information Technology Agency, a society under IT, E&C department is entering into MoUs with SmartDV Technologies, a proven verification and Design IP company. The company will start its operation from Chittoor in the next year. The company plans to invest close to 100 Cr to create opportunities for 3000 people and niche skill training for close to 10,000 people. The nodal agency will partner further with TCL Corporation with Techbulls Software Solutions, opening up multiple offices across the state. A partnership with Zetwerk Manufacturing Business is yet another feature in the state's cap. The company, one of India's few profitable unicorns, is signing an MOU to explore the possibility of making Andhra Pradesh a base to meet global and domestic supply requirements in the electronics manufacturing space. In total, these companies that the CM is going to inaugurate, and lay foundation stones are going to give employment opportunities to about 15,000 young brothers and sisters directly while creating economic opportunities for another 45,000 people in the surrounding areas. It is to be noted that in the last three years, Andhra Pradesh has significant contribution to India’s electronic sector growth: • Electronics sector alone has attracted investments worth Rs. 11,400 cr, out of which Rs. 3410 crore has already realized. • The sector has created an employment of about 61000 direct employment out of which 28,700 were already created. • In the last 1000 plus days, my government was able to do a greenfield EMC –YSR EMC and launched projects with proposed investment of Rs. 630 crore with an employment potential of 7800.
