The government is expected to unveil a roughly ₹15,000 crore boost linked to the Production-Linked Incentive framework very soon, aimed at accelerating disbursals and widening sectoral coverage within PLI this fiscal.
What’s coming: Policy signals indicate disbursal under PLI could be scaled up to about ₹15,000 crore in FY25, more than double FY24, aligning with a broader revamp to speed payouts and relax norms.
The step follows strong traction: realised PLI investments reached about ₹1.76 lakh crore by March 2025, with incremental production above ₹16.5 lakh crore and over 12 lakh jobs created.
Large-scale electronics (mobiles), telecom/networking, and Pharma are set to corner the biggest shares of near-term incentives under the enhanced outlay.
Across 14 sectors, 800+ projects have been approved, and ministries are streamlining quarterly claims to reduce delays and improve cash flow to manufacturers.
Pharma’s PLI already carries a ₹15,000 crore envelope, while overall PLI has a total sanctioned outlay of ₹1.97 lakh crore, showing room to reallocate and top up where uptake is strong.
Net effect: a near-term ₹15,000 crore push would reinforce momentum in electronics and Pharma supply chains, support exports, and deepen domestic value-add in FY25.
