1996 - Luckiest batch-cadre ever ?

When it comes to luck, it appears that the luckiest batch-cadre may be the 1996 batch of IAS Gujarat cadre. Out of the five officers, as many as three are posted on extremely prestigious foreign assignments - one each in the World Bank, Washington DC; International Monetary Fund, Washington DC and Embassy of India, Tokyo. This when such positions are so few that they can be counted on fingertips. Reason for dominance by this group need not be elaborated. (Incidentally, fourth officer from the same cadre got appointed in Washington DC on a Director rank post just a week before the batch was empanelled as JS). Lucky batch indeed !
