1st bird survey of Nallamala forest held

District Forest Officer Nandyal, Vineet Kumar IFS and Rupak Yadav organised a two days 'bird survey' program in the pristine Nallamala forest for the first time in Nandyal district Andhra Pradesh. There were above 150 applications for this bird survey. Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve is the largest tiger reserve in India and home to many wildlife species.  As DFO Vineet Kumar said "There are around 100 bird species in just two sessions. Program was a success. We hope to extend and continue the programs in future. Rupak (Co-ordinator) says that "This is the first bird survey program happen in Nallamala with involving public. The results were wonderful. We are going to start more programs after dussehra" People should know about their beautiful forest and it's wildlife". The '1st Bird Survey' and Nature walk program was organised on October 14, 15,  2023 at Nallamala Jungle Camp, Ecotourism Pacherla.  Nandyal MP pocha Brahamananda Reddy garu also joined the program and appreciated the initiative taken by Rupak and Forest Department. Participants are provided with certificates at the end of program. Birds- Common iora, Scarlet minivet, streak throated Woodpecker, Grey breasted babblers, Honey buzzard, Crested serpent eagles, white rumped shama, Ashy woodswallows, yellow footed pigeon, yellow throated bulbul, black naped monarch, orange headed thrush etc so many birds species found in the bird survey session.
