According to the provisional data of the RBI’s Central Repository of Information on Large Credits (CRILC) database, a total number of 2,790 borrowers – with aggregate credit exposure of Rs 5 crore and above – have been reported as wilful defaulters of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) and all Indian financial institutions in 2021-22, Minister of State for Finance Bhagwat K Karad informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply on Tuesday.
