The Custom and Central Excise department has handed over 40,301 antique to the Tourism and Culture ministry. These antiques- seals, stamps and coins- belonged to various rulers and kingdoms from 1200 to 1900 AD. These antiques were smuggled out of India but were seized by the Customs officials at different airports and other places. The value of the seized items is said  to be Rs 63.80 crores.
