433 Constitution Bench matters pending before SC

A total of 433 Constitution Bench matters – including 50 ‘main matters’ and 383 ‘connected cases’ – are pending before the Supreme Court. Out of the 50 ‘main matters’, 38 are to be heard by a Constitution bench of five judges, seven are to be heard by a Constitution Bench of seven judges and the remaining five by a Constitution Bench of nine judges. Out of the 383 ‘main matters’, 245 are to be heard by a Constitution bench of five judges, eight are to be heard by a Constitution Bench of seven judges and the remaining 130 by a Constitution Bench of nine judges.
