Air India (AI) pilots may now fly till they are 65 to meet the workforce requirement as the airline plans to expand and purchase over 200 new planes. An internal document of the Tata Group-owned airlines said that the DGCA permits pilots to fly till the age of 65, while retirement age of Air India is 58. It intends to retain its current trained pilots post-retirement on a contractual basis.
