Here is yet another first to the credit of the Central Government. The centre is making all arrangements to interpret Parliament proceedings in 22 different regional languages. India is one of the most linguistically diverse countries of the world and the members of the Parliament come from different backgrounds. The parliamentarians have two options now – Hindi and English. But after this system comes into place, the Parliamentarians will have the option to listen to proceedings in 22 different regional languages. The system is going to improve the quality of house proceedings as MPs will have no language hurdle and will be able to understand questions and replies in a true sense. The next session of the Parliament is likely to be held in a new building and the system is to be made operational by then.
