AP Govt overcomes fiscal deficit

The Andhra Pradesh Government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is reported to have overcome fiscal deficit despite challenges in the COVID-19 period. The state has fared infinitely better than neighboring States like Telangana and Karnataka. As per the latest preliminary report presented by CAG in 2021-22, the AP Government had made a total debt of Rs 25,194 crore. The CAG has noted that AP borrowed Rs 25,000 crore while the budget projected to borrow around Rs 37, 000 crore.
