Assam CS Holds High-level Meeting With Axis Bank

 Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam held a high-level meeting with Axis Bank representatives (including Executive Vice President Smt. Shifali Jain) to explore project financing partnerships. Discussions focused on an Assam-specific homestay tourism model (leveraging tribal heritage and tea garden culture, inspired by wellness initiatives elsewhere), improved market access via financial tools, logistics, MSMEs (including cement), industrial corridors, and evolving Self-Help Groups (SHGs) into startup-oriented enterprises. An institutional mechanism with ITDC was proposed for structured implementation. This reflects a continuing trend of senior bureaucrats driving public-private partnerships for high-value tourism and economic diversification.
