Assam: Female electors outnumber male voters in LS polls

Female electors, young and old, outnumbered male electors during the three-phase Lok Sabha elections in 14 constituencies in Assam. According to the data issued by the State Election Commission, 1,00,04348 women came out to vote against 99,83851 men across the 14 parliamentary seats. The three-phase polls recorded an overall voter turnout of 81.56 percent with as many as 1,99, 88,275 general electors casting their ballots at the polling stations out of a total of 2,45,06236 eligible general voters.
