Assam PHE Secretary gets multiple extensions/promotions after retirement

The Government of Assam has extended the tenure of Diganta Baruah as Secretary, PHE.  He was given two promotions with a service tenure extension of one year as Secretary in 2022. He has again been given an extension as Secretary. Before promotion to Secretary level, he was earlier promoted to Additional Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer and Secretary one after another within a year.
