Assam Rifles : a bone of contention

Assam Rifles (AR) is now a days focal point between the two main ministries. Presently AR is under Ministry of Defence and working as a para - military force. Central Para Military Forces (CPMFs).have now become Central Police Organisations (CPOs) and all CPOs comes under MHA and that is the reason MHA wants AR's administrative control but MoD is reportedly not agreeable to it. If both ministries fail to decide the PMO may intervene.
