Asthana is second Police Commissioner from outside cadre

Rakesh Asthana is the second IPS officer from outside the cadre to adorn the position of Police Commissioner, Delhi. Earlier in nineties, 1966 batch IPS officer of UP cadre Ajay Raj Sharma had held the post.
