Astra Microwave Products Ltd (AMPL) has steadily cemented its position as a trusted indigenous partner for the Ministry of Defence and allied agencies, with a series of high-value orders underscoring its expanding technological footprint across aerospace and radar systems.
The latest comes from the Indian Air Force — a ₹275.27 crore contract awarded to Astra Rafael Comsys, the company’s joint venture with Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, for integrating advanced radio and networking systems on MiG-29 and LCA Mk-1A aircraft. This follows a string of strategic wins in December, reflecting both operational capability and policy alignment with India’s “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” agenda.
On December 26, Astra signed an MoU with Bharat Electronics Ltd to co-develop and manufacture next-generation electronic warfare, radar, and satellite systems, reinforcing domestic collaboration in critical technologies. Earlier, the company secured a ₹124 crore order from Astra Rafael Comsys for supplying modules, cable assemblies, and antennas for Software Defined Radios, and another ₹171.38 crore contract from the India Meteorological Department to deliver six S-band Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radars.
Together, these developments underline Astra Microwave’s dual strength — advanced R&D and reliable execution — positioning it as a key contributor to India’s defense and aerospace self-reliance.
