Whispers has it that the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (RT&H) has issued directives to the NHAI that the officials placed from the Ministry in NHAI will not be considered under deputation rather in cadre post and there will be no limitations to their tenure in NHAI though they withdraw deputation allowance and other benefits of deputation with NHAI. Earlier the Ministry of RT&H passed the order to place the ministerial official's at higher rank with that of NHAI own cadre officers under same pay scale, then directives were issued to recruit Technical officers among non recommended candidates of IES exam against earlier recruited through GATE topper. It is whispered that the management of NHAI at one hand appears to be unable to implement the reforms stated by the parliamentary standing committee and on the other hand it blindly implement the order challenging its autonomy.
