BEL registers profit of Rs 1548 cr for year 2016-17

The Board of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has declared results for the year 2016-17. The Defence PSU has registered Rs 1548 crore profit after tax and Rs 2019 profit before tax aginst Rs 8825. BEL led by M V Gowtama as CMD registered a turnover growth of 17% over previous year while export turnover of  65 million USD and induction of weapon locating radar to army. Similarly, supply commenced for major projects: Integrated Air Command and Control System; Hand Held Thermal Imager with Laser Range Finder; Electronic Fuze; Low Level Transportable Radar; Ship Borne Electronic Warfare System (Varuna);l Excellent “MoU” Rating for 2015-16; Turnover from indigenous technology is 87%; Sales from Defence business is 88%.
