Bengal Chemicals makes a turnaround

India’s first Pharmaceuticals Company, Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (BCPL), established by the renowned Scientist, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray in the Swadeshi Movement, has come out of red first time after Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray’s legacy.  It has reported a Net Profit of Rs.4.51 crore on a total income of Rs.110 Crore as per its audited Financial Results of 2016-17 against reporting of Net Loss of Rs.36.55 Crore on a total income of Rs.36.33 crore reported in 2013-14. This means in three years Company’s total income increased more than 300%.  In the same period, BCPL recovered a loss of Rs.37 Crore and reported a profit of Rs.4.51 crore in 2016-17 which is a remarkable achievement of this great organization. Company was reporting losses every year for more than six decades which is after the death of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray in 1944 and by reporting a Net Profit of Rs.4.51 crore in 2016-17, BCPL has created a World History, because probably, no company had survived/continued its operations for more than six decades in losses.
