BRICS Summit created most conducive diplomatic space: Anil Kishora

Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of the New Development Bank has said that over the last 20 years since its inception in 2006, BRICS has emerged as one of the most influential geoeconomic platforms of our times. Roughly half the planet's population lives in expanded BRICS countries. As a group, it's a major consumer as well as producer of agricultural, industrial and other goods and services. It is only natural that the future trajectory of the world as a whole would largely be determined by the policy choices that the BRICS countries make.

Historically, BRICS deliberations and decisions clearly demonstrate the grouping’s willingness and ability to take measured calls, which make sense for the global good, not only global South. It is also apparent from the landmark 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi that the BRICS countries are well aligned on advancing resilient and sustainable growth. Towards this goal, the Delhi Summit will be remembered for, amongst other achievements, having successfully created the most conducive diplomatic space for intra-BRICS consultation and collaboration in extremely challenging times.

Enthusiastic participation in four hundred plus meetings and engagements at ministerial and other levels convened in various cities in India prior to the summit is set to unleash immense untapped synergies, scale best practice propagation and lead to practical outcomes that benefit all the countries in future. The sheer breadth of issues taken up during these engagements make the 18th summit a milestone befitting the 20th anniversary of the BRICS.
