The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has been left with only two members following the retirement of Bhagwant Singh Bishnoi, who superannuated from the post of Member, CCI, on August 24, 2023.
Consequently, the competition regulator has been left without the necessary three-member quorum. With Ms. Sangeeta Verma, another member, retired on September 17, 2023, the CCI has been left with Ravneet Kaur, chairman, as the only member, until further appointments are made.
Three new Members appointed in CCI On September 18 the Government however,appointed three new members in CCI. They are Mssrs Sweta Kakkad, a senior advocate ,Anil Kumar Agrawal, an IPS officer of 1988 batch and Deepak Anurag, former Additional Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General ofIndia. Now there is no vacancy in CCI.
