The Central Government has enhanced fixed medical allowance of Armed forces pensioners from Rs.500/- pm to Rs. 1000/- pm with effect from July 1, 2017. Ex-Servicemen who retired after April 1, 2003 have to become member of ECHS compulsorily and are not eligible to draw Fixed Medical Allowance.
