As per tradition, after retirement he is likely to be elevated to the House of Lords (Upper House of the Parliament) where the membership is for life. During the last 100 years, there have been only 12 Cabinet Secretaries in UK. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that all Secretaries and ex-Secretaries can apply for the post of Cabinet Secretary which carries a salary of about £20,000 per month. Sir Philip is also holding the post of National Security Advisor. That post will go to David Frost currently UK’s Chief EU trade negotiator as consequent to completion of brexit process the post is now to be abolished.
