CJI seeks revival of old tradition of appointing retired SC & HC judges

The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi in a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought revival of an old tradition of tenure appointments of retired SC and HC judges, under Articles 128 and 224A of the Constitution respectively, so they can be assigned cases pending for years.
