Collector more powerful than SSP/SP in UP

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has circumscribed the rights of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Superintendent of Police (SP) empowering the Collectors in the districts. The SSP and SP cannot make any transfers and postings of town inspectors and inspectors of police stations without the permission/approval of Collectors in the district.
