CPWD organises a seminar on ‘my vision – corruption free India’

Central Public Works Department (CPWD), a principal engineering organisation of the Government of India, has organised a “Seminar Cum Interactive Session” on October 31, 2017 as a part of the various public outreach programmes being organised by CPWD to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week 2017.  The topic of the Seminar is ‘My Vision- Corruption free India’ which is also the main theme of the CVC for the Vigilance Awareness Week 2017. Dr T M Bhasin, Vigilance Commissioner, CVC graced this function as the  Chief Guest. Bidhan Nayak, IPS, Spl. Director, IB (Retd.) also attended this seminar as a Special Guest.  Other special invitees are B. Anand, IAS, Joint Secretary (Works & Hriday), Dharmendra, IAS, Joint Secretary [Land & Estates and CVO] from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. M R Krishna, IPS, Chief Vigilance Officer, CPWD in his welcome address explained in detail about the activities of the Vigilance Unit and the various public outreach programmes that are being organised by CPWD to mark the Vigilance Awareness Week throughout the country. Ramesh Chandra, Spl. Director General, CPWD explained in detail the various policy improvements and E-technology measures that have been implemented in the Organisation as a part of effective preventive vigilance. Bhasin expressed his appreciation of the various activities and efforts made by the Vigilance Unit of CPWD towards implementing various effective preventive measures to bring about more transparency and accountability in the Organisation.  The Chief Guest also threw light on the recent policy decisions taken by the Central Vigilance Commission and at the Government level to improve the vigilance administration.   He inspired all the participants to make a strong resolve to promote integrity, honesty and moral values in the public life and to make all out efforts to eradicate corruption. The special guests Naik, Anand and Dharmendra also spoke at length about the various measures to be taken to make India corruption free. The interactive session was very fruitful wherein the participants raised many pertinent questions and T M Bhasin, Chief Guest gave detailed answers to the satisfaction of the participants.
