Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under a ₹650 crore contract, it boosts maritime surveillance in the Bay of Bengal, equipped with 30mm CRN 91 guns and advanced electro-optical sensors for anti-smuggling and SAR operations. Seven more vessels are slated for induction by 2027.
