The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has prescribed procedure for offering/accepting post retirement contractual employment/assignments or consultancy etc by retired government officers so that those with a tainted past or having cases pending against them are not engaged. Retired officers of AI Services, Group 'A' officers of Central Government must obtain vigilance clearance from employer organization and from all organisations where the officer had served during 10 years before retirement if he has served in more than one organization. Procedure for engagement must be transparent with equal opportunity to all those willing to serve. The officers must mandatorily observe cooling off period after retirement before taking up any full time job offer/contractual assignment from private sector entities and government organisations must formulate guidelines for employees in this regard.
