D. Bala Venkatesh Varma, presently Ambassador of India to Spain, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly. He is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of 1988 batch. (We said this on July 23, 2018.)
