PNG Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is perhaps the only regulatory authority which has no power to decide natural gas pricing. The body was established in 2006. Since then it is waiting for the govt notification in this regard. According to sources, at the time of its establishment the govt made a provision to give it price regulations authority, but it is yet to be notified with the result that the govt decides NG price. However, TRAI has this power.
