In Haryana, the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to promote IPS officers has not been held since long time and now resentment is mounting among the officers. According to the sources, IPS officers in the state are lagging behind all other states. However, the DGP of the state Prashant Kumar Agrawal, 1988 batch is retiring by end of this month and an empanelment committee of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is reportedly going to hold a meeting on Thursday to shortlist three IPS officers of Haryana cadre. The panel will be sent to the Government that will pick one officer for the DGP post. It is said that the DPC will be held after the new DGP takes the charge. Two IG level officers Amitabh Dhillon and Sanjay Kumar, both 1997 batch, have in a communication to the state DGP complaint of the delay in their promotion. The officers also informed that the promotion from IG to ADGP level has been carried in all other states except Haryana.
