Did a Rahul Confidant Ask Priyanka Gandhi to Not Attend the CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar?
Speculation is mounting within political circles after reports emerged that a close confidant of Rahul Gandhi advised Priyanka Gandhi Vadra against attending the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar. Organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the demonstration features climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 15 days demanding the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister over recent examination irregularities.
According to sources close to the development, Priyanka Gandhi was highly keen on visiting the agitation site personally to express solidarity with Wangchuk and the protesting students. However, she was reportedly counselled to hold back to avoid politicizing a citizen-led movement or creating conflicting narratives within the party leadership.
While multiple opposition leaders have already extended their support to the CJP’s protest, the Congress high command's decision to maintain a calculated distance has raised eyebrows. Observers are left wondering whether this advisory was a strategic move to keep the focus on student-led accountability or a sign of deeper internal coordination dynamics regarding how the party aligns with high-stakes civil demonstrations.
