Dr Dhingra gets ‘Dewang Mehta National Education Award’

Dr K L Dhingra, Director, National Institute of Bank Management, Pune has been conferred with ‘Dewang Mehta National Education Award’ for his outstanding contribution to Education, at the ceremony held at Mumbai recently. The Award has been presented by Hindustan UniLever Limitedat the hands of Prof Indira Parikh, Ex Dean of IIM Ahmedabad. Dr Dhingra has to his credit an impressive track record of achievements during his career span of over 36 years including inter-alia his tenure as Chairman and Managing Director of HUDCO, New Delhi and Chairman and Managing Director of ITI, Bangalore for more than seven years. After joining NIBM, Dr Dhingra has been instrumental in introducing e-certificate courses in all the four areas as mandated by the Reserve Bank of India, viz., Credit Management, Treasury Management, Risk Management and Accounts and Audit, started workshop on Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code 2016 for timely resolution of NPAs, and also a specially designed programme for the officers of the banks under Prompt Corrective Action (PCA). Dr Dhingra is former Financial Expert on ERSO Trust Fund of UN Habitat (representative of Asian countries) and former Vice Chairman of SCOPE (Standing Committee of Public Enterprises). Dr Dhingra is a Fellow of Chartered Banker Institute, Scotland, Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA) and, Fellow of Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF), Mumbai.
