Dr M Jagdish Kumar has been appointed as Chairman, UGC. The post has been lying vacant for a few months. Dr Kumar is presently VC, JNU. He will head UGC for five years or till he turns 65, whichever is earlier. (We said this on Jan 18 and 21, 2022)
