Dr. Thomas Mathew’s book is selected in “Top Picks”amongst book read in 2023

The leading financial daily, Financial Express, has selected the ‘top picks’ amongst books to read in 2023. Unsurprisingly, at number three is the authorised biography of India’s legendary business leader, Ratan Tata by Dr. Thomas Mathew, former civil servant. The book would give a new perspective on the life of this icon from his turbulent childhood to taking the Tata Group to new heights and giving it a global footprint surviving the opposition of old Tata veterans who were hopeful of stepping into the shoes of JRD, on his retirement. The book relies on primary documents of Tata Sons and personal documents and photos of Mr. Ratan Tata to which he was given virtually unfettered and exclusive access, reports and studies amongst others. It also contains rare insights into the life of this legend gleaned from nearly 150 interviews Dr. Mathew conducted across continents. It will upend many existing assertions and nearly ninety percent of the narrative in the book will be in the public domain for the first time.
