Dutt takes part in Vijay Diwas programme in Ahmedabad

Former Chhattisgarh Governor and former Defence Secretary Shekhar Dutt recently attended a program of the Army in Ahmedabad to commemorate ‘Vijay Diwas’ to mark India's historic victory against Pakistan in the 1971 war. The event – which was supposed to be held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Victory Day on December 16 last year – could not take place then because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dutt took part in the Rajasthan Gujarat Sind (West Pakistan) Sector in the 1971 India-Pak War, during which two districts of Sind Pakistan - Thar Parker & Nagar Parker. He was serving as Forward Observation Officer (FOO) of the 11 Infantry Division during the war and he was on the leading tank, which attacked Pakistan in that sector. Dutt was awarded Sena Medal for his gallantry in the war.
