Waltair Division initiated by Divisional Railway Manager Anup Kumar Satpathy has come up with an innovative passenger amenity: E-cars and E-bikes on rent at Visakhapatnam railway station at an attractive rate to passengers and with added concession to Railway staff. Perhaps for the first time in Indian Railways, "E-vehicles on Rent" is an Eco- friendly move by Team Waltair for the passengers visiting this beautiful city. The facility was commissioned on September 4, 2021.
The facility is set up at Visakhapatnam railway station at Gate No. 1
It offers a diverse and exceptional range of two wheelers and four wheelers, mostly e-vehicles on rent. This project is part of our Non-fare Revenue earning drive which will generate an earning of 8.25 Lakhs over 3 years. This is expected to be a popular facility for the visitors, passengers, staff and the public at large who can avail it at nominal charges.
The concept of e-bikes and cars is to promote eco-friendly movement of the travelers and to encourage the public towards curtailment of fossil fuel consumption.
