Early retirement for three recently-appointed EDs in PSBs ?

At least three recently-appointed executive directors (EDs) in public sector banks (PSBs) – Nitesh Ranjan (45 years), Ms. Monika Kalia (48) and Debadatta Chand (50) – could be staring at early superannuation. While Ranjan has been appointed as ED, Union Bank of India, Ms. Kalia and Chand have been appointed as EDs of Bank of India and Bank of Baroda respectively. Although they have been appointed for a period of three years, they can get an extension for another two years based on a review of their performance. Nonetheless, it may still mean their career will end before or by the time they are 55, unless they are appointed as managing director (MD) or chief executive officer (CEO) of a PSB.
