Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding in Chief , Eastern Air Command  on the Air Force Day, paid tributes to all the Brave Hearts who made the Supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. He laid a wreath at the War Memorial at Head Quarters  EAC in Shillong . He also conveyed greetings and best wishes to all personnel and their families of Eastern Air Command and exhorted them to continue working towards taking Indian Air Force and the Nation to greater heights and glory. On Air Force Day, all the units under Eastern Air Command celebrated the 91st anniversary of the IAF with a variety of formal and social events. Headquartered at Upper Shillong, the Eastern Air Command is one of the lethal arms of the Indian Air Force. Eastern Air Command (EAC) controls air operations over a vast area that straddles 12 states. It includes the seven north eastern states, Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar and parts of Orissa and Jharkhand covering over three lakh square kilometres. The area of responsibility includes a 6300 km long international boundary with China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
