On July 15, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced the appointment of Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa as Vice-President for Private Sector Operations and Public-Private Partnerships. Sources in the Rashtrapati Bhawan say that no resignation of Lavasa from the Election Commission has so far been received. 1980 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer Lavasa has to succeed Diwakar Gupta whose term ends on August 31.
