Following the retirement of Justice Ashok Bhushan, the total strength of Judges in the Supreme Court has been brought down to 26 – eight less than the sanctioned strength of 34. Besides, Justice Rohinton Nariman and Justice Navin Sinha are also set to retire in August this year. The last appointment to the Apex Court was made in September 2019.
