EVM carrying vehicles equipped with GPS

The chief electoral officer of Assam, Anurag Goel informed that all the EVM-carrying vehicles were equipped with GPS so that vehicle movement could be tracked. Extensive arrangements were made by the state election department throughout the phases of the polls to ensure that the polling parties reached their destinations safely. In all three phases, we have installed GPS on all EVM-carrying vehicles to ensure that they can be tracked at any time, informed the CEO. In the third phase, more than 6000 vehicles carrying EVMs were equipped with GPS. The department had taken extensive help from Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) and BSF in the riverine areas in this regard.
