Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the creation of a specialised unit in the Uttar Pradesh Fire Service to tackle chemical, biological, and industrial accidents, as well as emergencies in super-high-rise buildings. The plan includes forming 98 gazetted and 922 non-gazetted posts to staff the upgraded department. The government aims to strengthen and modernize the fire service with state-of-the-art equipment while ensuring preparedness for any situation. Each district will have an accounts cadre, and new posts will be created in the training institute to enhance professional capacity. Small fire stations are also planned every 100 kilometers along expressways to ensure quick response times. Emphasizing modernization and efficiency, CM Yogi stated that the expansion of the fire service is essential in accordance with industrial growth and urban development, marking a significant step toward building a more resilient and responsive emergency management system in the state.
