First time Judiciary will be engaged in SIR work

For the first time in India Judicial officers are being involved in the verification work of SIR in Bengal. And Judicial officers from Odisha and Jharkhand will also be put on duty to finish the pending work in West Bengal. West Bengal is the only state where ruling TMC vehemently opposes SIR. CM Mamata Banerjee even approached the SC to defer the ongoing SIR, but the Apex Court refused to oblige TMC government and has allowed the CJ of the Calcutta HC for requisition of judicial officer from neighbouring states to finish the task. Now one can hope the pending work will be completed within the time frame.
