First woman officer Kanchan Devi appointed as DG, ICFRE

An IFoS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, Kanchan Devi has been appointed as the Director General of Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE). She has taken over the charge. She has the credit of being the first woman officer to be appointed on the post. She has more than 30 years of experience in different areas of forestry, including forest management, forest administration, education, HRD and research. She is a 1991 batch officer.
