GNFC’s achievements continue unabated
Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GNFC) has broken records on various fronts, both through its business acumen and community initiatives. In the business front, it has reported Profit Before Tax of INR 715 crore for the 2016-17, which is higher by 167 % that the previous year.

In the business front, it has reported Profit Before Tax of INR 715 crore for the 2016-17, which is higher by 167 % that the previous year. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta Managing Director Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited informed that this year the GNFC posted the highest ever quarterly and yearly PBT, highest ever Exports and the highest ever dividend of INR 5 per share @ 50%. The IT division of the GNFC, (n)Code grew exponentially as it posted a profit of 51 crore, marking a growth nearly 50% from last year. Many of these business successes could be attributed to its community initiatives such as 100% cashless initiative and Neem Project, which strived on synergy with the policies of the government. As part of promoting cashless transactions and converting India into less-cash society, GNFC was the first to implement various modes of digital payments, and converted its company and township completely into a cashless ecosystem. GNFC followed precise and concise steps that began with trainings and digital literacy campaigns far and wide, followed by building and adapting infrastructure, and concluded with cross functional task force deployed for implementation, outreach and support. Hon. PM applauded GNFC’s efforts in Mann Ki Baat on 24th December 2016. Following which, under the auspice of NITI Aayog, GNFC’s cashless township model has been implemented in 81 integrated townships across 12 states, which were launched by Prime Minister on 14th April, 2017. GNFC’s Neem Project was the esplanade to fulfil the Hon. Prime Minister’s vision of Neem Coating 100% Urea. Neem Projecthas contributed to empowering marginalised communities and the rural poor with targeted focus on women empowerment by generating income and improving their livelihood prospects through neem seed collection. PM, NarendaModi has appreciated Neem Project on his interview to CNN-NEWS 18 on 2nd September 2016. In the last two years, the Neem Project generated INR 25 crore supplementary income for about 2.25 lakh rural women and landless labourers. Neem Project is being scaled up to six other states and intends to collect seeds in 73 districts across India, to generate over INR 50 crore for 6 lakh women. Following is the list of awards won by GNFC for CSR - Neem project: Porter Prize for enabling social progress through shared value creation; Skoch Blue Economy Person of the year Award 2016;Global Award for Excellence in CSR 2017; Golden Peacock Award for CSR 2017; Skoch Blue Economy Platinum Sustainability Award 2016; SkochOrder of Merit Award; ABP News Award for Excellence in CSR 2017;India CSR award for Innovative Project of the Year; India CSR award for PSU CSR leader. Awards won by GNFC for 100% Cashless Initiative; Golden Globe Tigers for leadership in e-payment; Golden Peacock Award for Innovative Service/Product and Business World Digital India Award for the best implementation of cashless payments.
