GNFC’s phenomenal rise during last two years

From the year 2015, when Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertiliser & Chemicals Ltd (GNFC) suffered first ever huge loss of over Rs 450 cr due to cost and time over run in their major expansion project, to present extraordinary growth and joining of billion dollar market cap club; it’s an unprecedented story of turn around led by focused, result oriented and inspiring leadership of Dr. Rajiv K Gupta IAS, MD GNFC. Infusing life in a dead Toluene Di- isocyanate plant, making it operational, stable and profitable, strategic expansion of exports from just six to sixty six countries across all the continents, establishing highest ever production and marketing records and smartly reducing costs and increasing realizations by dynamic pricing decisions, have been some of the key components of this historical growth story, that normally is not seen in a government controlled company. During last six months both CRISIL and ICRA have upgraded their ratings for the company and the share of GNFC has been upgraded from Group B to Group A at Bombay Stock Exchange due to strong growth, phenomenal increase in market capitalisation and robust financials and significantly sound corporate governance. From the time GNFC share was teetering at around Rs 50 just two years back to the present when it has touched Rs 548; market capitalisation of the company has zoomed from Rs 750 cr to Rs 8000 cr - a feat unrivaled by any government controlled company in the country. GNFC has joined billion dollar market cap club under Dr Gupta’s innovative leadership from a situation two years back when the company was almost written off. Dr Rajiv Kumar Gupta’s ‘Neem Project’ initiative to fulfill Hon. Prime Minister’s vision of 100% Neem coated Urea has come in for special appreciation by none other than the Hon. Prime Minister himself on many occasions, in addition to being awarded by national and international organizations. Recently Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched various projects of GNFC at Bharuch and showered eloquent praises on GNFC’s management
