The Government of India has asked all the Ministries and Departments to curtail avoidable expenditure at least 20% reduction. They can reduce in: overtime allowance, rewards, domestic travel expenses, foreign travel expenses, office expenses, rents, rates and taxes, royalty, publications, other administrative expenses, supplies and materials, cost of ration, POL, clothing and tentage, advertising and publicity, minor works, maintenance, service or commitment charges, grants-in-ad general, contribution and other charges.
